Buying a home at The Residences at Rancho La Puerta has been a dream come true. As someone who fell in love with Rancho La Puerta over 30 years ago, I could not be more thrilled to now call this incredible place my home.
My Love Affair with Rancho La Puerta
My first introduction to Rancho La Puerta was over 30 years ago when I attended a women’s retreat here. I was immediately captivated by the natural beauty, nurturing environment, and sense of community. During my time at the retreat, I felt fully immersed in nature, engaged in meaningful conversations, and replenished both physically and mentally. I left with a sense of joy and renewal that stayed with me for weeks afterwards.
From that point on, I returned to Rancho La Puerta whenever I could. It became my personal sanctuary – a place where I could unwind, reflect, and reconnect with who I am at my core. No matter how busy my life became, I always knew I could return to the ranch for a reset.
Over the years, I brought family and close friends along so I could share this special place with them. Their reactions were always the same – pure amazement at how incredible Rancho La Puerta is. We’d spend our days hiking the mountain trails, lounging by the pool, enjoying farm-to-table meals, and simply allowing ourselves to be fully present.
When the opportunity arose to purchase a home at The Residences at Rancho La Puerta, I jumped at the chance. The thought of being able to live at least part-time in this nurturing community was a dream come true.
Why I Chose The Residences at Rancho La Puerta
There were many reasons why I chose The Residences as my second home.
First and foremost was the opportunity to be part of the Rancho La Puerta community full-time. I’ve always said that I’m a nicer, kinder, more joyful version of myself when I’m at the ranch. Living here allows me to be that version as much as possible!
Secondly, I was drawn to the vision of creating an international wellness community. I loved the idea of having neighbors from all over the world who share my passion for living consciously. There is already such a wonderful sense of camaraderie between the early Residence owners, and I’m thrilled to see this community grow.
I was also very impressed by the amenities that come with being a Residence owner. Having access to Rancho La Puerta’s facilities via a day pass is a dream. Between the pools, fitness center, trails, classes, spa, events, and more, I’ll never run out of things to do! Plus, the plans for future amenities like the vineyard, café, art gallery, and more have me so excited.
Beyond the amenities, however, what I cherish most are the people that make up this community. From the moment I first connected with the sales team to touring the property and meeting fellow owners, I was blown away by the level of care, compassion, and dedication shown by everyone involved. These core values make The Residences at Rancho La Puerta unlike any other community out there.
Touring the Property for the First Time
I’ll never forget the first time I toured The Residences property. As my sales agent Karla led me through the grounds, I was envisioning how this once empty landscape would soon transform into a vibrant community. Karla walked me through the master plan, showing where the vineyard, restaurant, gallery and other amenities would soon exist. Her passion and vision were contagious. I could clearly see the future she described coming to life on this land.
As we approached the residential villas, I was delighted by the architecture and design. The homes exuded both elegance and comfort, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor living. Once inside, I immediately felt at ease, as though I was meant to inhabit this space. The views of the mountains took my breath away.
What struck me most was how all of the residences felt connected to nature. Each one had walls of windows and doors opening onto courtyards, patios and verandas. I could just imagine spending mornings journaling on my patio, surrounded by trees and mountain views. It embodied the indoor-outdoor living I had always dreamed of.
Meeting the People
Beyond the homes and amenities, what truly makes The Residences at Rancho La Puerta special are the people. From my very first conversations with the sales team, to meeting fellow owners, I was touched by the authenticity, care and passion shown by everyone involved.
Karla in sales immediately put me at ease. She took the time to truly understand what I was looking for in a second home and matched me perfectly with the right residence. Her kindness and attention to detail made the buying process effortless and enjoyable.
As I met fellow residents, the sense of community was palpable. Despite coming from diverse backgrounds, we were united by shared values of wellness, personal growth, and conscious living. Conversations flowed easily, centering around our gratitude to be part of this pioneering community.
The staff on property were equally welcoming. From groundskeepers to chefs to housekeepers, every person greeted me with genuine warmth and care. It reminded me of the first time I visited Rancho La Puerta decades ago – that same nurturing spirit was very much alive.
Settling Into My New Community
Now that my home at The Residences is complete, I couldn’t be more thrilled to settle in and start enjoying this incredible community.
My days here are filled with a sense of joy and possibility. Mornings start on my patio, sipping coffee and watching the sun rise over the beautiful scenery. I see myself spending the earlier part of the day immersed in nature, going on hikes through the miles of trails or floating in the pool surrounded by gardens.
Afternoons are a time for personal growth. I’ll be able to take a fitness class, get a spa treatment, work one-on-one with a health coach, or sign up for a hands-on workshop. Having access to Rancho La Puerta’s world-class amenities with the day pass is a dream!
I can see evenings being a favorite time of mine, as this is when I believe the community will come alive. I’ll enjoy long dinners chatting with new friends under the stars or join in group activities like wine tastings, cooking classes, or sound bath meditations. The connections I’m forming here are truly priceless.
When friends and family visit, I relish the opportunity to share this place with them. Their reactions when seeing The Residences at Rancho La Puerta for the first time are always priceless – pure awe and wonder at how stunning this community is. They understand immediately why I chose to make this my home.
Vision for the Future
As The Residences continues to grow, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the future.
In the coming years, I envision our owners coming from all over the world, attracted by the opportunity to live in an international wellness community. I picture the grounds bustling with activity – people walking through the gardens, sitting for a meal with neighbors, and sampling grapes at the vineyard. Laughter and joy will flow through this space.
Our connections will deepen as we support and learn from one another. I see infinite possibilities for growth, whether it’s learning a new language with a neighbor or discovering a hidden talent in an art class. This will be a place where people’s best selves emerge.
When I imagine the future of The Residences at Rancho La Puerta, I see it becoming Rancho La Puerta’s natural extension. Our community will embody the core values of mindfulness, wellness, service and stewardship. Together, we will carry forward Deborah Szekely’s pioneering vision for healthy, purposeful living.
I couldn’t be more grateful for finding my dream home and community here. Being surrounded by the natural beauty of Rancho La Puerta combined with neighbors who lift each other up is a dream come true. I’m excited to immerse myself fully in this nurturing oasis. The Residences at Rancho La Puerta is where joy, meaning and connection spring eternal.
